This is our Flying Amphibious, my husband Iain made it (who is my amazing helper). As you can see it has wings, wheels and a front of a boat. It is unfinished and we will be completing it over the term and turning it into a wonderful Room 6 creation. We are making a wish list of things that it still needs.
Room 6 came up with different names and we voted on the one we liked best. Flying Amphibious is Douglas McMurray's idea. We think it is a wonderful name, we are going to put triple w on the number plate.

How do planes wings work?
By the pilot and the Engines make the plane go fast and the air gets cut by the wings.

The engine runs and it goes so fast
the air gets cut by the wings.
The wings cut the air and the engine makes the plane go fast.

The plane's wings work because of there shape, when the air goes over them it gives the plane lift.

The wings have little rectangles called ailerons that make the plane go left or right and are controlled by the pilot.]

by the pilot turning the engines on and oppening and shutting the aerofoils on the back of wings

It's to do with the shape of the wing and how the air moves quicker underneath the wing and this creates lift to make the plane go up.

By the shape of the wings and when the plane takes off the air catches under the wing to make the wings move up and down.

The wings cut the wind wich moves the wings.

I think the wings work by when you drive it. The wings cach the wind to move them up and down.
It is further for the Air to go over the top of the wing so the air travels faster on top, which means it is spread out more creating less pressure so the thicker air underneath pushes the Aeroplane up.

I think there is a bar and some cogs inside the plane that connect to the wings and the plane has an engine that makes it go really fast.

I think that during takeoff the wings lift so it catches the air and on the wings there is an engine and I think a fan which goes faster and faster as you get into the clouds.

The wings are a certain shape.the air goes under and on top of the wings which makes the plane go up and the jets make it go forward.

When the plane moves ford it makes the air go over the wings it makes the plane take off.
The jets push the plane along and the shape of the wings lift it off the ground.
The wings usually help to slow the plane down on landing as well.
