For Keita - From Mrs C-B!

Hi Keita We are all LOVING the fact that you are writing to us and we are learning lots of interesting information!! AWESOME work.
My e-mail address is jopurplerainbow@xtra.co.nz if your Mum wants to send some photos to us and I will put them on the blog.
It is so cool that you went to that school that have been in touch with Room 9! I was wondering if you were visiting another school if you could ask if they want to be our buddy class so we can share information and what we are learning about. You would probably have to get their e-mail address and contact information, they may even have a class blog.
We have our Night at the Library production this week and we are all very excited about it. The children have all worked so hard and I am proud of them ALL! We will write to you as a class and tell you how it goes. It has been a little hard to use the computers lately as the server at school has been playing up!!
LOVELY TO HEAR FROM YOU!

The Wonderful World of Lily
Last week my daughter brought home a fantastic story she had written in class, and she was itching to show it to us. She read it out with great pride and expression before tea that night."Wow, that's a great story Lily." I told her, "Maybe you could get that put on your class blog."
"Our class doesn't have one yet." she told me.
"Hmmm, well would you like your own blog?"
She turned to look at me her eyes shining...and The Wonderful World of Lily was born.
So please welcome the blogosphere's latest writer, you can read her stories and writing at http://lilycb.blogspot.com, I'm sure that she would love to get some comments from all of you out there!
Mr C-B
This was written by my husband Iain in his education blog. We thought it was pretty cool that Lily wanted one. Your child may be interested in their own blog as well, if so I don't mind helping set one up. Just click on the above address if you want to check out The Wonderful World of Lily.

Fabulous Writing!
A letter to Mrs C-B about what I would like to be in the production.
Dear Mrs C-B
I would like to be a movie star at the production. A star I would like to be, yes I would. I can't wait until the production. I want every body to clap at me, then I will be a movie star ha ha ha. You are nice like Mrs Garth. Yes you heard me I would love to be a movie star. I think I would love to be a movie star, yes I do.
From Mason
Dear Mrs C-B
I would love to be a singer in the production. I am good at singing and dancing on stage in front of people. I think I should sing and dance on stage, it will be fun. I think it would might be noisy at the end because they will be clapping.
Molly
A character description about my Gran.
My Gran's hair is as soft as a feather, and it is as white as snow.
Gran's skin is as soft as a chick.
Gran's lips are as red as a cherry, they love kissing.
Gran's eyes are as bright as the sun.
Her arms are as soft as a teddy.
Gran's top is warm and cuddly like a soft puppy.
Gran's pants are as green as the bush.
I love my Gran.
Hannah
A character description about Nanna Simm.
Nanna Simm has wrinkly skin because she is old.
She has soft hair like a feather.
She can't live by herself because she is old.
She might not survive by herself.
She is funny and kind and cool.
I would miss her if she passed away.
That would be sad.
I hope she does not.

More words from Keita......
Hi Tayna,
We travel mainly by train becaue that is the quickest way to get around.
For breakfast we usually eat weetbix which we brought from New Zealand! But if staying in a bed and breakfast place, we eat rice and fish.
Keita
Hi Tyler,
it is quite hot at the moment but it is a bit cloudy.
We are in Tokyo today but are going on the train to Hiroshima for a few days.
yes, we do wear slippers in the house - to keep things clean inside.
There was a big earthquake yesterday and I thought there was train coming down from the sky!
Keita
We loved getting your post card Keita and it is so cool hearing about what you are up to. Thanks!! Room 6

Keita said.......All the way from Japan!!
My favourite sight so far is looking at all the different trains.
What is really different for me is sleeping on a mat on the floor!
I haven`t been on any adventures yet with Hedgie but we are going on a long trip on the Bullet Train on Friday.
It took 11 hours to fly to Japan. I was sick 10 times!
I haven`t met any other kids yet.
There is lots of different food food over here: raw fish, tofu, soba noodles, and melon pain.
Hi Jake,
Great to hear from you. It is warm here but raining at the moment.
I am in Tokyo today but tomorrow we are going on a train trip to the West coast.
Keita
Hi Tayna,
It is the rainy season here.
I slept a lot after I got here.
Keita
Hi Mrs CB,
Did you receive the answers to the questions you sent?
KeitaHi Mason,
Nice to hear from you. There are heaps of DVD shops over here. But my Grandad has the Disney channel, so I am watching that a lot!
Keita
Yes Keita I got your answers and I have published them above as you can see. I probably might have felt a bit sick in the plane for that long as well. I was interested to hear that it is rainy season over there and also that you sleep on a mat on the floor. We are going to be all doing that when we go to the museum sleep over when you get back (the mattresses are slightly thicker than a mat).
Room 6 are going to ask you some more questions for homework. I hope you are having a lot of fun and family time.
Leave a comment or question for Keita.

A message to Keita!
We have a student Keita who is in Japan at the moment and we are going to ask him some questions in the month he is away.
He has our class mascot Hedgie with him so he can take him on lots of exciting adventures.
I have a few questions for you Keita.
1. What is your favourite sight so far?
2. What has been really different for you?
3. Have you been on any adventures with Hedgie?
4. How long did it take to fly over to Japan?
5. What are kids like in Japan? Have you met any kids?
6. Is there different food to us?
We hope you are enjoying yourself, we are still practising hard for the production.
You can look up Keita's answers in the comments section. Room 6 leave a comment for Keita or a question.

The Bullet train goes 360kmh! Cool!
