Cross Country!!

Room 6 having FUN after the cross country!!
Tyler and Hamish showing off their T-Shirts!
Matthew and Alisha showing off their t-shirt designs.
The top four boy winners in Year 3 after the race!
The top four Year 3 girl winners after the race!
The boys warming up with Mrs Brown!
Stretching our muscles!
The girls are off and racing!
The girl's stretching before the race!

We had our cross country today in the drizzle. It was great that we were able to run it as we have tried twice now because of the rain.
We were very nervous before hand and Mrs Brown took us for stretches.

It was a great run and two of our girls got a top four placing - Tayna and Madeline - YAY!! We also had two of our boys in the top four as well - Caleb and Josh!!
We were very PROUD of everyone for putting in such an AWESOME effort! We had a great day and at 2:30 we had prize giving in the hall.

At Fairfield School we ask the children to wear a T-Shirt with the people who are sponsoring them for the run names on it. It is a great way to fund raise and also cool for the children to show the support they have. You can see the T-Shirts on some of the children in the top photo's. They made a great effort and Tyler won the boy's section. Well done Tyler.

Chanelle's Topic News!!

In Room 6 we have topic news every Tuesday, that is when someone takes home the topic book and writes about something that is special to them, or a sport, hobby or interest they have. They then write in the book and they can bring topic news to share or put on the topic table for the week.

This is Chanelle's topic news.

My Brother Reuben!

On the 19th of June 2008 my brother Reuben was born. I was at Oma and Opa's and Dad called me to let me know that I had a baby brother. I was really happy and excited.

We went to the hospital straight away.
When I saw my new baby brother I thought he was so cute, he had lots of black hair and he was really small. When I held him he felt heavy but I loved cuddling him.

I have brought in the bracelet he had on his wrist and the name card from his bed. I also have some photo's to share. Reuben is now 2 months old. I like having Reuben as my brother, it's fun to have him around.

OLYMPIC CREED!

The Olympic Creed

‘The most important thing in the Olympic Games is not to win but to take part, just as the most important thing in life is not to triumph but to struggle. The important thing is not to have conquered but to have fought well.’

ROOM 6’s DIFFERENT POINT OF VIEW ON THE OLYMPIC CREED!

The meaning of the passage is: it is not important to win but to try your best. I agree with this. I think this because if you always did things thinking you would win, you would be disappointed if you didn’t. If you do things just to take part you will never be disappointed. For example: On world book day I really enjoyed dressing up as Lyra even though I did not win.

Molly Crighton

What the Olympic Creed means to me!

It doesn’t matter if you don’t win; it’s all about participating. We learn form our mistakes and bad times. We will do things differently next time. I agree with the Olympic Creed.

Amy Blair

Yes I do agree with the Olympic creed because it means that being in the Olympics is not all about winning, but it’s all about trying hard, taking part, doing new things and meeting new people from different countries. It’s a great experience.

Chanelle Huggins

The most important thing is to not win but to take part and have fun.

Andrew Jopson-Reeves

I think that all of the Olympic Creed is false because everyone who takes part wants to win.

Madeline Pleace

I agree because at least they all try there hardest.

Tyler Wilden

I do agree with you, it isn’t about winning it’s about taking part. It is still cool if you win, but I would understand if I didn’t win in swimming because I am not good with it. P.S I’m good with biking.

Tayna Barnes

It is important for me to do my best because…….
I practise so I get better and better. It is like when I am doing my ballet I am, I am watching and listening and following the teacher. I enjoy going and maybe one day I will be good enough to be on stage.

Character Dress Up Day!

I dressed up as Sponge Bob for dress up day. Mum got a yellow shirt from the shops and she also got some sponges. Dad got a big cardboard box and he cut some holes for the arms, head and face. He then stuck 3 sponges on the front and back with the hot glue gun. Mum placed the sponges where they should go on the box so that Dad could follow and she also put pen marks.

It felt really itchy when I was wearing it, but I was happy I won the competition for my class.

I LOVED the dress up day because everybody dressed up as cool characters and Mrs C-B was Aslan the Lion. My favourite costumes were the Yr 8 boys who dressed up as fairies!!
