The Journey Of Our New Classrooms!
Our School is getting two new classrooms and they are being built during this term. As these buildings grow we have been looking at how we build our learning community as part of our inquiry topic. As the classroom outside grows from foundations to framework to completed building, so too will our Room 6 learning community.
At the moment we are laying our foundations by getting to know each other and discovering more about our class mates, establishing our super hero rules of conduct, and setting our learning goals.
We are finding out lots of information and Mrs C-B discovered today that one of the pupils in Room 6 shares her birthday. This is the first time in her 12 years of teaching that this has happened!
She also was delighted in the excellent discussion happening after today's book news about how we are all unique, different and very special because of those differences.
You can see in the slide show that we have been taking photos every day (except the weekend). We were excited today to see the concrete being poured into the holes.
Room 6 kids please add a comment on what you think of the progress of our classroom and the new buildings.

Hi I love my new classroom! Room 6 and Mrs C-B are cool.
I enjoy watching the trucks and diggers working on the new classrooms, it looks like fun to drive the diggers.
I wonder if my little sister is going to be in the new classroom. From Caleb

Thanks Mason, I think you are pretty cool as well. It does look fun to drive the diggers I know Mr Inch and he says it is a great job (he is the man driving the digger).
Caleb that is a good question to wonder. When is she coming to school? You are a great worker in the class Caleb.
Where did the flax bushes go?

Not sure where the flax bushes went Keita. We will have to ask them!
You are such a great worker in the classroom and a neat kid.
Mr Inch
The some of the flax bushes will be planted beside a swamp for shelter for ducks, pukaki and other bird life.
Thanks
I can't wait to see the new class when it is built. I wonder what class number it will be? From Hannah
