Testing our Water Carriers!!

We had so much fun testing our water-carriers. We had a competition at school to see which groups water carrier held the most water. We had to do it three times, it was so much fun. We laughed and laughed.

Some of us realised that our design wasn't really that good when it came to carrying water and some of us modified them a bit at lunch time. We tested the ones that were made at school and then we tested one groups one that Caitlin Constable decided to have a go with at home.

The group that won were Madison K, Tayler C, Olivia L, Abbery C,and Olivia R. They came up with an excellent design that was like a basket. They plaited the handle and lined the basket with material. We had a most creative group as well.

We really loved doing this technology challenge and Mrs C-B thought our ideas were simply magnificent. She tried very hard not to give us any ideas herself.

Leave a comment Room 6 and explain to people how you made your water carrier.

I made a water carriers with a coconut, flaxs, and leaves. I put a leaf inside to cover the hole. I put the flaxs around the edge of the coconut. I used the leaves to decorate the coconut. I did not test my because the sticky tape did not hold the leaf.

I liked makeing the water carriers so much. I desided to make one at home. I would go for a bush walke and look for the materials.

First we had to plan our design incorporating the materials we would use. The next day we were put into groups to make it together. Our group used bark and flax. Our group's water carrier wasn't a great success but it was fun trying.

First we got put into groups and our group made ours out of material, bark, leaves and flax. It was a cool activity. Our group's water carrier was the most sucessful in holding water.

First we did a plan then we got into groups of four. For our water carrier we used flax, bark, material and leaves. It was fun making our water carriers. We were lucky enough to have the most successful carrier. Good effort made by all in my group.
