Jack Simpson dreamed of a great adventure. He decided to fight in the war, and went to Gallipoli. He found a donkey there, and together they worked to take the wounded soldiers from the battlefield to the beach hospital. They worked very hard to help the soldiers. Jack always had a kind word and a smile. He was known as the Bravest of the Brave. AG.

Before the war, a young man named Jack Simpson gave Donkey rides to people on the beach for a penny. He was forced to go to war and at training camp he didn’t do very well. Instead of fighting and shooting, he decided to save the wounded and take them back to the base with stretchers. He was kind and gentle. Not long after that he found a donkey. They started to run out of stretchers so Jack used his Donkey. He also brought water to the thirsty soldiers. He was called Bahadur by the Sikh gunners, which means the bravest of them all. It was very risky to go and save the soldiers and he saved lots of lives. By KW.

Jack Simpson did not show that he would make a good soldier at training but after being sent to Gallipoli he ended up being a hero, the bravest of the brave. He took water on his donkey to thirsty soldiers and carried back the wounded.
