In the early 1940s, Frank Zamboni invented an ice resurfacers for his own ice rink in Southern California. The Zamboni has had a big impact on skating and ice sports through the world for the past 65 years.

The Nock Nevis, is the worlds largest ship at 500 metres long and 75 metres wide. The Nock Nevis, a ship so huge that when loaded she can not go through the 50 kilometre wide English channel because it cannot turn very easy! Also when fully loaded, she sits 24.5 metres deep in the sea and takes about 9 kilometres to stop!!! The Ship carries 850 million litres of oil. WOW!!!

During the 1930's, rocket research went forward in the United States, Germany, and the Soviet Union. A famous scientist Goddard's team had built the world's first liquid-propellant rocket in 1926.Butthey did not have that much support from the government. German and Soviet rocket scientists received funding from their governments to develop military missiles.

In 1942, during World War II, German rocket experts under the direction of Wernher von Braun developed the V-2 guided missile. Thousands of V-2's were fired against European cities, especially London. This caused widespread destruction and the loss of many life.

After World War II ended in 1945, many German rocket engineers went to work for the U.S. government. They were going to help develop military missiles. The U.S. Navy worked on larger rockets, such as the Aerobee and the Viking. In 1949, the rocket team built and tested the world's first two-stage rocket, with a V-2 missile as a first stage and a small WAC Corporal rocket as a second stage. This rocket reached an altitude of 250 miles.

For the 2004 Thunderbirds film, FAB 1 was redesigned for the 21st century. The futuristic 6 wheeled Rolls-Royce was built by Ford, and it really drives.

Sadly the real FAB 1 cannot fly or float like it does in the movie, but I like it because it is pretty, pink and is interesting because it has six wheels!

When I was 3 years old my family and I went to Wellington and I went on a cable car.It is unusual because of the way it works and this is how it works. Two cars are attached to a cable which is attached to a line like a power line and when one comes down the other comes up.
