We welcome Sophie to our classroom, she comes from Christchurch and goes to Windsor School.
Sophie has come down because it was scary for her in Christchurch. We asked her about what the earthquake was like.
Sophie said - When the earthquake happened it was real scary - I was in my classroom with the teacher (we were just about to go out to lunch).
We got under our desks, the teacher told us to. It felt like someone was shaking the classroom, the book shelf fell over and there was water all over the floor from the fish tank. When it was over the teacher said to stay under the desk for a wee while and then we went out onto the back field (the whole school went there).
My brother and sister were already out for lunch and they were up the top of the monkey bars, they fell off and then they ran to back field. My brother hurt his arm and my sister almost broke her arm. The whole school was crying, the teachers were trying to ring our Mums.
We have got heaps of cracks on the buildings and the ground. Mum and Dad are in a caravan now still up there, our house is really bad, we can't get in the front door or the garage door. We have bad cracks in our drive and house, draws are upside down and our window came out.
I am pleased to be down here staying at my Aunties because I am away from the earthquake.
We are pleased to have Sophie in our room:-)
